Update: Critial Apple iOS and OS X security vulnerability patched: SSO Alert Priority High
Update: This information updates an Alert previously issued on 24 February 2014, "Critical Apple iOS security vulnerability patched, OS X systems to be patched soon."
Apple has released a critical security update for iOS iPhones and iPads. The equivalent update for Mac OS X laptops and desktops is also now available.
If you have any of these Apple products, you should ensure you have applied this update.
The update fixes a critical flaw in the way your system connects securely over a network, meaning a hacker could access information such as emails and other communications you try to send over the network.
Until you apply the update, you are advised to avoid connecting to public wifi networks.
The latest update for iOS is version 7.0.6. To confirm your software version and apply the update on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update, and download and update the latest version.
The latest update for OS X systems is version 10.9.2. Your system should notify you once the update is available. You can also check this by going to the Apple Menu > Software Update.
The latest security information and updates for all Apple products.
