Game developer Ubisoft hacked
Maker of Assassin’s Creed hacked, account holders advised to change passwords
On 2 July 2013, game developer Ubisoft, confirmed its website was the target of an attack which accessed “data on some of its online systems", including user names, email addresses and encrypted (hashed) passwords.
It advises that no payment information was stored by Ubisoft and no credit card information was compromised.
It has emailed customers to notify them of the breach.
Ubisoft also advises that it has taken appropriate steps to address the compromise and to initiate an investigation.
Due, however, to the loss of passwords data, all Ubisoft account holders are advised to change their passwords.
If you use similar log on information for other online services, you should also change these – ensuring they are unique.
