Australian Communications and Media Authority
The
Australian Communications and Media Authority website explains what parents can do to protect their children from some of the risks of using the internet, and how to make a complaint about offensive content on the internet.
As part of the Australian Government's cyber-safety policy, ACMA provides a comprehensive national program of cyber-safety initiatives including research of current trends in cyber-safety, targeted information campaigns and activities, and development of cyber-safety education materials.
Australian High Tech Crime Centre
The
Australian High Tech Crime Centre website covers topics such as:
- computer intrusion and denial-of-service
- harassment, threats and defamation
- mule recruitment
- offensive and prohibited internet content
- online child sex exploitation
- online fraud
- phishing
- racial vilification, and
- spam.
Budd:e E-security Education Modules
The Budd:e E-security Education Package is designed to raise the e-security awareness of primary and secondary school students and help them adopt secure online practices and behaviours.
Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy
The
Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy website explains the key role the Department has in coordinating and delivering the Australian Governments cyber-safety plan. This includes:
- developing and implementing Internet Service Provider (ISP) filtering
- implementing a comprehensive range of cyber-safety education initiatives
- expanding the Consultative Working Group
- establishing a Youth Advisory Group, and
- supporting research into the changing digital environment.

NetAlert is part of the Australian Government's ongoing commitment to providing a safe online environment for all families, especially children. The
NetAlert website provides practical advice, information and resources to help ensure your family's online activities are safe and enjoyable.
The website also contains information about the types of computer programs available to help parents control access, filter inappropriate websites or monitor their children's activity when they are on the internet.

Stay Smart Online E-security Alert Service
The Stay Smart Online E-security Alert Service is a free, subscription based service that provides home users and small to medium enterprises with information on the latest computer network threats and vulnerabilities in easy to understand language. It also provides solutions to help manage these risks.
ThinkUKnow
The
ThinkUKnow website is an internet safety program delivering interactive training to parents, carers and teachers through primary and secondary schools in the ACT, NSW and Victoria using a network of accredited trainers.
