Internet Service Provider (ISP) Cyber Security Code of Practice—improving cyber security for all Australians
The ISP cyber security code of practice (the icode), was developed by the Internet Industry Association (IIA), in conjunction with the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy and the Attorney-General’s Department.
It is designed to promote a cyber security culture within ISPs and provide a consistent approach for Australian ISPs to help, inform, educate and protect their customers in relation to cyber security.
The new voluntary code was launched at the start of the 2010 National Cyber Security Awareness week by the IIA, the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy and the Federal Attorney-General, Robert McClelland. The voluntary code comes into effect on 1 December 2010.
The icode is available for download from the IIA’s website.
