Tips to keep you cybersecure!

Most of us know the basics when it comes to being online, but here are some handy tips to make sure we all stay cybersafe and cybersecure.

  • When using school or public computers don’t submit or access any sensitive information.
  • If you get a message from someone you don’t know, be suspicious.
  • Don’t give your email address out if you don’t need to.
  • Never click on links on social networking sites or in emails—even if they look genuine.
  • Limit what information you put online about yourself.
  • Set strong passwords and be sure to change them regularly.
  • Stop and think before you share information about yourself, friends or family online, such as your phone number or address.
  • Make sure your computers at home and at school are secure—check the secure your computer page if you’re not sure.

Should your school get involved in this year’s National Cyber Security Awareness Week?

Held in June, the Awareness Week will include a range of events and activities across Australia. If you think your school would like to be involved contact us for more information.
